FAQ
- Do
I have to pay tax on my rental car? The Inland
Revenue only require P11D information for rentals of fourteen
days or more.
- Can
I reclaim VAT? 100% of VAT is reclaimable for the
first 5 days of a rental. For hires with a duration of six
days or more 50% of VAT is reclaimable.
- Do
I need to take out insurance for the hire? Check
to see that you will be covered by your company policy which
is preferable as insurance on daily rental is a costly option.
- What
happens if my rental vehicle breaks down? All rental
vehicles have breakdown cover, details of which will be
in the car or on the key fob. During office hours please
contact FleetEurope on 01494 435000 where one of our reservations
team will be happy to answer any questions for you.
- What
do I do if my rental vehicle is damaged during the hire?
Always report any damage to your own Fleet Manager and to
FleetEurope as soon as possible. FleetEurope will arrange
for the damaged car to be collected and a new car delivered
to you if required. Once any repairs have been carried out
an invoice for the cost of the repair together with copies
of estimates and delivery and collection reports will be
sent to your fleet manager.
- What
do I do when I have finished with my hire car?
If the hire has been booked on a "to be advised"
basis then you need to contact FleetEurope so we can arrange
for the vehicle to be collected. Our reservations department
is open from 0830 - 1730 Monday to Friday. Outside of these
hours you may be able to contact the supplier direct, however
if a termination is made in this way you must record the
number called, the name of the person who took the termination
details and a termination reference. You must then contact
FleetEurope as soon as possible the next working day so
we can confirm the termination for you and ensure that you
are not charged for any excess periods.
- What
happens if I collect a parking ticket on my rental vehicle?
You are always responsible for parking the vehicle legally.
Should you be issued with a parking ticket or fixed penalty
notice at any time you should pay the relevant authority
as soon as possible. The issuing authorities follow up any
unpaid tickets by contacting the registered owner (the hire
company) at which point they increase the cost of the initial
fine and you will also incur administration charges.
- Do
I need to refuel my vehicle at the end of the hire?
All rental cars are supplied with a full tank of fuel. You
should always refuel the vehicle at the end of the hire
to avoid paying service charges to refuel the car.
- My
hire car is being collected from my house but I will be
at work, what shall I do with the keys? Once the
vehicle is no longer on rent to you, you should leave the
keys available to the branch at all times. Please contact
us to advise us of the location of the keys. Any wasted
journeys made by the local branch to collect a car which
is not there or where the keys are not available will result
in extra charges being made.
